Feature | Usecase |
Twitter Community (different from Circle) |
Communities of Twitter users. Each 'Community' is invite only and very from elite to generic. This is different from Circle which is just a collection of Twitter accounts created by users. E.g: Democrats, Hollywood, Nobel Laureates, Jeopardy Participants, 'Musk'eteers etc. Share, tweet, discuss, poll within communities for less spam, more relevant and targeted reach. |
Twitter Corporate (named "Announcement") |
Extension of Twitter Communities for corporations/enterprises. Enterprises use it to 'Announce' micro-updates, policy changes etc. Could potentially be put to test in Tesla, SolarCity, SpaceX companies ;) Employees by default become verified members of respective corporations. |
Twitter for disappearing Tweets (named "Twitter Now") |
Classic ephemerality play here. Mostly for tweets that are only relevant for the present moment. |
Microtipping on tweets for artists (named "Twittip") |
Twitter hosts millions of content-creators. Enabling micro-tips, directly on tweets for better creator monetization. |
Twitter One Click Buy shop (named "Sell") |
Twe-commerce. Buy from tweets, via one click |
Twitter VoiceBox (Audio-only tweets) |
Many tweeters like audio-only tweets. Targeted towards broadcasting that are an overkill for video but not enough via text |
Twitter Nearby (Localized twitter) |
News, activities, events, polls, notification etc from nearest-by places E.g: power outage around, earthquake next-door, halloween event etc. Relevance, hyper geo-tagging. |
Twitter Ballot (Different from Poll) |
Communities have users verified manually through the service. This is extremely powerful in itself! This enables Twitter to be used for official voting events because voters are guaranteed to be unique and legit. |
TweetClout | Sort of like Twitter Celeb/Influencer Score. Not just based on followers. But based on a combination of followers, TweetClouts of followers (nested clout), retweets, positive comments etc. |
Verification As A Service |
User verification is a powerful tool within Twitter But why use that aspect only within Twitter? Utilize it as-a-service that other external apps/usecases can utilize for a fee. This is similar to how Facebook pioneered "Like" (or Login) within Facebook.com And eventually every other site integrated it. |
Twitter Auction (Named TwitBid) |
Extension of micro-tipping and tw-ecommerce features mentioned above The extreme realtime aspect of an auction, combined with global outreach with real users make it a tailor-made usecase for Twitter. |
Twitter Endorse |
A stronger version of "Retweet". Retweets is akin to simply "sharing". However, an "Endorse" or endorsing a tweet is "supporting an opinion officially" An "Endorse" can only be done by celebs/influencers with a minimum "TweetClout". |
Twitter Petition and FundRaise |
Everyone is already on Twitter. That makes it very easy for creating policy changing and empathetic petitions that need to reach a wide audience. All Twitter needs to do is add features that are specific to petitions. That includes a "sign" feature, micro-fundraise gateway etc. |
Twitter Themes (or MyTwitter) |
Option to personalize Twitter themes. Not just look-and-feel, but also some backend options. Should not be too configurable though. Idea being geeks like different interfaces from fashion influencers, who like it different from politicians etc. |
OpineAnon (Verified yet Anonymous) |
Within communities, where all users are verified, users get to share things anonymously. This enables the platform to be used anonymously without the fear of bots. Intended for providing anonymous opinions, but as a verified user. |
In-depth analytics For influencers (named "Twitter Deep") |
Not just the basic analytics provided on Tweets. Much more in-depth, historical, trends, schedules, user behavior, user demographics etc. |
CrossCheck (different from BirdWatch) |
Similar to BirdWatch, but completely AI (non-human) based. Enables (mostly) bias-free scrutiny Disables the negatives of crowdsourcing content monitoringand AI cross-references across the internet, including with Birdwatch. |
GooD News (Maybe PosiTwivity?) |
Categorization of the user feed Just "positive" or good and uplifting news The specific usecase is intended for an overall site-level and global feel-good factor. Possibly even to enhancing mental health. However, the categorization should be much broader E.g: Uplifting-only, Happy-only, Non-fiction-only, Endorsed-only etc. |
NFT Mint and Marketplace (NFTweet) |
Option to both "mint" and sell NFTs. Also enables NFT-izing your tweets directly. |
Twitter AMA |
Given the global outreach, verified user-base, potential "Community" feature, AND most importanly, the real-timeness of Twitter, I don't think AMA is better suited than any other website/app than Twitter. |
Navy Blue tick. Free verificaton for non-profits/charitable-orgs |
$8 for all, should not apply for non-profites and other samaritans. Twitter has a role to play in making the world a better and better informed place This should be a step towards that. |
Free verification for Tesla users | Why not? Family of Musktopian companies should share benefits. |
Twitter for Customer Support |
I've practically used Twitter as customer support in many cases! Works really well due to real-timeness, being public and thus under watchful eyes, easy interface. Could be used either directly on "corporate Twitter", or directly on Twitter, or separately using Twitter integration on external websites. |
Print and Frame (Twitter Frames) |
Artsy, but literally order your or others' tweets (with their eclusive rights) to print and 'Frame' their tweets.
Both 'print' and 'frame' service offered by the platform! Also print on merchandizes like tees, mugs, business cards etc. Gift them to your loved ones! |
Twitter Merchplace | An extension of the above A place to buy all Twitter merchendise! Musk has a unique flair (sort of reality distortion field) when it comes to selling merch! Tesla Shorts, flame-throwers are just starters! |
NextGen: Twitter via Neuralink |
This includes tweeting via your brain, using Neualink that is also owned by Musk ;) Just like this initiative towards building silent speech interfaces |
NextGen: Twitter on Blockchain | For decentralized micro-blogging. |
Twitter Sandbox For AI/ML/Data |
A comprehensive, all encompassing sandbox environment
For researchers of AI/ML/NLP/Data Engineering etc., as Twitter forms the "Hello World" of the data/corpus they all use. I'm envisioning this on the lines of a Jupyter Notebook, but with Twitter APIs integrated. |
Twitter Listen (not just Feedback) |
All companies have a tiny "feedback" section hidden somewhere on their site. But it's hard to name a handful that have taken them seriously or in an action-oriented way. Starbucks ran the most famous crowdsourced idea campaign in history, and it was exceptionally successful. Given the monetization challenges of Twitter, it's high time the owner's vision is complemented with some sort of user ideas/opinions. |
